[The eclipse in Kazakhstan, June 19, 1936].

Photographs taken during the observation of the solar eclipse on June 19, 1936 at Ak-Bulak, Kazakhstan, during an expedition co-sponsored by Harvard and M.I.T.; some show Clyde Fisher (curator of astronomy at the American Museum-Hayden Planetarium) and his wife, Te Ata. The album, which has "Eclipses" handwritten on cover, was given to C. Fisher by N. Gorbunov, permanent secretary of the Soviet Academy of Sciences. The album includes a photographic reproduction of the typescript caption list in Russian ([2] leaves) and is accompanied by a letter from Gorbunov to Fisher, dated Aug. 5, 1936 ([1] leaf, typescript), as well as an offprint of: The eclipse in Kazakhstan, by Clyde Fisher (article originally published in Natural history, v. 38, no. 3, 1936).
